The new store is big upgrade in comparison to the old one. Bigger aisles across the store where you won’t collide with people anymore. Bigger parking lot underneath the store where you won’t have to spend tons of time looking for a spot. I believe the best addition to this Whole Foods is the cafe space with entrance thru Penn Avenue with seating and a bar.
I am Loyal customer at Whole Foods for years. I placed an online order to make my shopping more time sufficient. I needed to grab 3 more items from the store that I preferred to pick out myself. So I picked up my order and proceeded through the store to obtain the rest of my ingredients. While shopping for my remaining ingredients, I was followed and harassed by the store manager. He told me that I wasn’t supposed to shop in the store with my order because it looks “sus”. And told me that I was “shopping wrong”. He continued to follow me through the store hassling me to show confirmation of my order. I immediately felt uncomfortable by this and asked him to stop harassing me and confirm with his team or even check the store cameras that a manager should have easy access too. I ended up showing him my order confirmation before leaving as I understood his frustration. But As a loyal customer I felt attacked by the store manger and will no longer be shopping at the establishment. On my end I could've grabbed my order after I shopped around the store but my pick up window was passed and I didn’t want my order to be disposed of or anything. As a paying customer I didn’t think Much of it Because I knew I paid for my order and I knew I was gonna(and did) pay for the 3 items I needed. Very disappointed in the way I was approached by the manger. It felt racially biased as I am a black women. Today they lost a loyal customer.
I love the cleanliness of the store. The employees are always very helpful if you have any questions. They offer many things you can't find in other stores. The only true downfall of Whole Foods is the price. It costs way too much to shop here for anything other than specialty items.
In general 95% of the people who work here are awesome and hardworking. The new store is super clean (as the old one was) . It features a pizza stand, hot and cold buffet (where some delectable items can be picked up) sushi and ready meals ranging from $11 -13. There is an indoor spot where one can eat and drink too.. The ready meals use to be generous bomb but now the servers are scrimping on the amounts which has caused me to abandon this option and go for the hot and cold buffet. Their pastry shop has expanded and if you have a sweet tooth you will leave happy. There is also a cheese hub where you can learn about all kinds of different cheeses. Also as an added bonus you can buy booze here!!! They do scan your ID which is outrageous as even the PA state store does not intrude upon your identity, collecting all kinds of sensitivity information they have NO right to. (Also those devils Giant Eagle also scan IDs with alcohol purchases.) Don't know why they do this. (I was given some b.s. answer) However if you want a great selection of booze and do not mind your id getting the big brother, this store does not disappoint. For that I had to take off a star. This store also has a very quick self service station where you can check out yourself and people are there to help you. And also, remember you can pick up or drop off unwanted Amazon purchases here. The prices for items vary and one can still shop here and get all kinds of goodies without breaking the bank. They also have loads of sales. If you are a prime member you can get discounts too. Late in the day, they tend to run out of food. If you are a carnivore, I recommend the collard greens and pulled pork. I did not get a good pic of the pastry bar. It includes a vast variety of goodies. This bakery is my go to spot for bake goods. The quality is high...props to the pastry chefs. Enjoy!
It's a whole food that smells funny. Parking is in a garage, which is not too difficult to find. The location was better before the move. Sadly, with time, all things change. The Amazon drop-off kiosk was manned by two employees that went fast!
The store in general is great but the coffee bar is terrible. They're either always on a break or they just don't work. Was told that even thought they're open till 3 they close down at 2:30. They just leave coffee out until 3. The rest of the store is a typical whole foods and is pretty well managed.
Fresh produce is always nice including organic products. Prepared foods sections and bakery usually sufficiently stocked. Limited selections of staples and other goods. Just hasn't been the same since Amazon bought it out.
The new store is so much better than the old one! The layout is roomy and easy to shop, and I’m loving the increased selection. I’ve also had great experiences with the grocery pickup option.
